Passion For Homeless Veterans and Barbecue!
[NO! WE DON'T BARBECUE HOMELESS VETERANS!!!]
Last Forgotten is a Homeless Veteran Ministry that is dedicated to generating finances to assist Veteran's in any fashion possible! This particular venture takes the desire we all have for Barbecue, Good times around Barbecue and Family and Friends, and creates an Annual Celebration to foster the gathering of Family and Friends and to take a moment to Honor those Men/Women who made the sacrifice so that we have this amount of Freedom that we have; and must strive to maintain!!!
Our Mission
At Last Forgotten we are aggressively seeking ways to address the needs of our Veterans. As a Charter member of the Los Angeles chapter of NABVETs we have in place with this organization alone all the necessities to fight to get Veterans all the benefits they deserve and are entitled to. But far beyond that we are creating a situation that empowers the Veterans. One of our most needed premises in society is to go back to "Honoring Honor"! We in society, for whatever reason have gotten away from honoring things that really matter. We find honor in shiny shoes, fancy suits and insincere words! We at Last Forgotten say that there is no greater Honor than to have served in the military that protects this country; Our home! Regardless of what you think of the countries position we hold that it is still a great and honorable thing to have sacrificed for this country's sovereignty in the military. With that mentality we feel that We should set up situations that not only honor but also bring notoriety to the Veteran and his accomplishments; Both in the military and out. The military afforded a many men and women with the opportunity to accomplish something in their life they had no access to; but because of the military they now have lives and careers that are noteworthy.
What is Unity 'Q'?
Unity 'Q' is a unique approach to initiate Unity and stimulate the honoring of Veterans! Summertime is a season filled with Picnic and barbecues! What Unity 'Q' does is take the 3 Great days of summer where Barbecues are the rule of the day and center them on a Veteran theme. What we have developed is a situation where everyone can participate in 'Unity', and the Honoring and assistance of our Veterans. To participate we're asking everyone to take a picture or video of the Veteran they want to Honor (if you have more than one veteran to honor please do them one at a time; we want to give everyone their own place in the limelight!), with the Barbecue or Picnic in the background, and send it to us and we will archive them and every year on Veterans Day we will release an album with all the pictures of the events of that year and any comments and/or whatever you want to do to take part in this worthwhile and very needed endeavor! Again or goal is to bring Honor and notoriety to the Veterans; Nationally and in our Communities!

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM

THIS PROGRAM IS ABOUT HAVING VETERANS TAKE THE TRAINING FROM THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ASSIST FIRST RESPONDERS IN TIME OF EMERGEMCY. WHEN I INTRODUCED THIS TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, WHEN I TOOK THE TRAINING, THEY WERE EXTREMLY EXCITED ABOUT THE IDEA AND EMPHATICALLY AGREED TO ASSIST IN IT'S IMPLEMENTATION!!! EVERY VETERAN IS TRAINED IN SOME TYPE OF EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND THEREFORE A GREAT FIT FOR THIS SITUATION. WE ENCOURAGE CIVILIANS TO GET THE TRAINING ALSO! THE BEST PART IS I'VE GOT THE EAR OF THE NATIONAL BOARD OF NABVETS AND THEY WANT TO SEE THIS IMPLEMENTED IN COMPTON AND THEY WILL WORK WITH US TO IMPLEMENT IT NATIONALLY!
HELPWEAR
A CLOTHING LINE CREATED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF BEING A HELPING HAND. WE HAVE A LINE OF CLOTHING WE HAVE CREATED FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDRAISEING FOR ASSISTANCE. OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A COMMUNITY OF INDIVIDUALS WHO WANT TO HELP OTHERS... ERGO: HELPWEAR! OUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A SITUATION WHERE OUR LOGO IS A BRAND IN WHICH EVERYONE CAN PARTICIPATE! WE WILL HAVE 'HELP-DAY' IN WHICH AN ARTICLE OF CLOTHING WITH THE LOGO IS DISPLAYED, PHOTOGRAPHED AND SENT TO OUR COMPANY WHERE YOUR PICTURE AND OTHERS ARE ENTERED INTO A DRAWING AND GREAT PRIZES WILL BE GIVEN AWAY! OUR DRIVE IS VETERANS BUT WE WILL "HELP ANYONE HELP ANYONE!"
